Goblin Review
This is definitely the most important album of 2011, hands down. Tyler the Creator and his band of misfits, OFWGKTA, are changing the game in huge ways. At the same time they are biting the marketing style of one of the nineties most infamous hip hop collaboratives, The Wu Tang Clan. Similarities that can be drawn between the two when comparing them, are very obvious, the sheer size of the group is just like the Wu’s. The size is too generate as much success as possible by releasing a collaborative, then as many spin off records to put all the artists in the limelight. You can also compare the two by their mutual love of vulgarity and vernacular.
The album “Goblin” is sick! From the hard hitting single “Yonkers” to the lesser known song “Transylvania”, Tyler shows he is no stranger to controversy, as he carelessly throws vulgarity around like he doesn’t care, but while still leaving the listener with something to think about. This is the album that put odd future out there, and I predict that, in a few years, it will be regarded as a classic. I would for sure recommend this album to one of my friends or anyone else for that matter.
