The Carter 4 is another banger from Wayne. Every song pounds with bass and the lyrics are always sick. Lil wayne has been in the rap game for over a decade, and even though he lost a lot of respect for the “rock” album Rebirth, he came back twice as hard with the mixtape “Sorry 4 the wait” and his follow up to his most successful album ever, “The Carter 3”. He definitely did his thing on this one, from hard rap collaborations with hip hop superstars like Nas and Andre 3000, to crooning the love song , “How to love”, Wayne definitely demonstrates how diverse he can be on this album.
The subject matter in the album differs from his struggles of getting up on the rap game, to basicly bragging about being the reigning king of rap. I wouldn’t disagree with that statement per say, but I feel like if there was one bad thing I could say about this album, it would be that Lil Wayne comes off a little too cocky. But the cockiness is always present in Wayne’s work, and seperates him from a lot of the others rappers that are hot right now.
